Umpire Training
MYBF will again host expanded umpire training this year. We will host two, 1-day refresher courses for returning umpires, and will hold two, 2-day sessions for new umpires, as noted below. The training will be held on the 3rd floor of the Rec Center. The training will be a combination of classroom lecture and simulated game situations. We have retained Bruno Catrambone, a certified NCAA umpire to run the training, along with our own Chuck Bouchey.
Attendance at both days of either 2-day session is mandatory for ALL boys who would like to umpire in 2006 and did not attend training in 2005.
Attendance at one of the refresher sessions is mandatory for all boys who attended training in 2005.
As in past years, our youth umpires will work games in the 8, 9 and 10 year-old leagues (Coach Pitch League, Ken Griffey, Jr. League, and Sammy Sosa League, respectively). Youths in 6th grade or higher in 2006 are invited to participate. Managers and coaches are also strongly encouraged to attend.
